Industrial Machine Vision Line Light Standard Series
Line light standard are industrial LED lights for illuminating products in machine vision applications like surface defects on metal parts, character inspection on printed material, inspection of PCB components and positioning and recognition of large field objects. Our line light standard are available in different sizes. The standard color is White. On request also Red, Green or Blue, UV and IR line light standard are possible. When to use line light standard in your machine vision application?
Line lights are the most commonly used lights in machine vision applications when using line scan cameras. They are very versatile. You can use them in applications when you are inspecting:
- Objects on a conveyor belt
- Endless production methods like, foil, glass inspection

How to use line light standard for illumination
Line light standard are commonly used together with line scan cameras. The light is focussed on a small, narrow section, making them very bright on the scan line.
Our Line lights are designed to operate with a stable current controlled 48V supply and don't have any built-in protection. To ensure a long and reliable operation, it is crucial to use our official VA1-PS4-CD 48V power supply series. Using an incompatible power supply may lead to product damage and void your warranty. Our power supply also has the advantage to power the light and the attached cooling fans with a single cable.
The cables for connecting the light are supplied when buying a compatible power supply. Based on the power of the light the cable with matching number of poles should be selected.

Production and quality control of line light standard
Our LED lights are produced with a strict process of quality control, to ensure the reliability and consistency of our line light standard. Upon receiving a new batch of LEDs, the quality department completes a comprehensive check to test whether the wavelength falls within the specified tolerances. Approved LEDs are stored in a climate chamber, ready for use in production. The next stage is automated and involves placing the LEDs on a PCB that fits the line light, which is then followed by an inspection and soldering. Moving along the production line, the LED boards for line light standard are assembled into the mechanical housing of the line light. Post-assembly, the line light standard undergo testing to ensure that the light performs according to its specification. This critical phase ensures that each unit meets our uncompromising quality standards. The production process of the line light may also include the creation of a diffuser or polarizer. The diffuser is cut automatically and every batch of diffuser plates undergoes transparency testing before they are cut into the correct shape. It is standard that all of our line light standard are equipped with a diffuser. The final step involves a comprehensive quality check, where the intensity, voltage, and current of each light are meticulously measured. This step guarantees that all machine vision lights that leave our facility meet the required specifications. To further ensure the long-term consistency of our line light standard, we have established a room dedicated to light-source age testing. During the R&D phase of a new line light, the light will be continuously on for 1 week, while the temperature is monitored. For every new production run of line light standard, each line light will be continuously powered for 12 hours, ensuring that the quality and output of our machine vision lights remain uniform over time.
